Spring 2015 ~ March, April, May
UANA News
Spring has sprung! Everyone probably agrees that we are glad that winter is finally over and we can thaw out after all of the cold weather. We slid by with only a couple of snow storms, but they were not as bad as winters past. However, we would like to mention a very special THANK YOU to Neil Hauser on Friendship Cr for taking the time to clear off some of the snow along Friendship Cr and Idlewild Dr with his tractor. The neighbors are very appreciative of this kind gesture.Mark your calendar - The UANA plans to hold a General Membership meeting on Tuesday April 21, 2015, to discuss the parking issues on our streets and in lawns and an excess of trash accumulation in lawns and along the streets near rental properties. We will discuss some possible solutions for these issues. The meeting will be at 7 pm in the Parlor at Forest Heights Senior Living, 2500 Polo Ridge Ct.
Also, mark your calendar - The city of Winston-Salem will be hosting a First Annual Neighborhood Association Recruitment Fair on Saturday, May 16, 2015, from 11 am - 2 pm, in the Home & Garden Center at the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds. More information will be provided at the upcoming UANA meeting and via email as it becomes available. Also, we need a few volunteers to help at the UANA booth at the fair from 11 am - 2 pm.
Bulky Item Pick Up - Reminder that bulky item pick up for the UANA area is the week of May 26. Please have all of your items to the curb by 6 am on Monday, May 26.
Job Opportunity - Forest Heights Senior Living is looking for a mature responsible person with a flexible schedule and good driving experience to drive the facility bus to transport and assist residents to and from doctors appointments and other activities. Hours will vary depending on residents needs, but mainly M - F during regular business office hours. Contact Leigh Matthews at 336.722.7118 or email at lhmatthews@5sqc.com .
WFU Contact - Many residents have been inquiring about our contact person at WFU that replaced Amber Wall last fall. Her name is Erin Angel and she is the person you would call with any concerns regarding students who are living off campus in our neighborhoods. Here is Erin's contact information:

Deacon Properties To Build 18 Houses In Lakewood - Lately the buzz in the neighborhood is about 18 houses that Deacon Properties plans to build in the heart of Lakewood. They plan to build the houses on a 5 acre tract that belonged to Fibber McGee. It is a beautiful parcel with a large rambling ranch style house, a storage barn, beautiful grassy fields and a pond. Construction crews have already begun clearing the property for development. Deacon Properties plans to rent the houses to Wake Forest students.
The UANA has decided to hold a General Membership meeting on Tuesday, October 21 at 7 pm in the parlor at Forest Heights Senior Living, 2500 Polo Ridge Ct. Robert Wooten with Deacon Properties will present to us a plan for the property followed by a Q & A open forum . So for those residents who have concerns about this development, you will have an opportunity to voice those concerns and get a response from the developer.
Clarification Of Area Organizations - A lot of residents still get confused when we mention the different organizations within our community, so here is a little clarification. This will also be helpful for our new residents.
University Area Community Partnership (UACP) - The UACP is a group of representatives from Wake Forest University, the City of Winston-Salem, Landlords, and the University Area Neighborhood Association. The UACP works to maintain and enhance the quality of life for all residents in the greater Wake Forest University community. Through education, social engagement, community awareness, and partnership among our several constituencies we strive to serve the greater good of safety and community standards. The UACP meets regularly to review the concerns and challenges regarding safety and community issues in the greater University area as well as devise, implement, and review methods and programs to educate students and other residents about appropriate forms of neighborhood behaviors and appearance.
University Area Neighborhood Association (UANA) - The UANA is comprised of several neighborhoods that surround the campus of Wake Forest University. The neighborhoods of Oak Crest, Forest Heights, Brookwood, Lakewood, Long Acres, Wake Houses, Wake View, and Cottage Grove are all located along the Polo Rd and University Pky corridors. The UANA represents the permanent residents of these neighborhoods and address issues and concerns regarding neighborhood standards, property maintenance, safety, and social events and activities that bring us together as a community family. We hold meetings several times throughout the year to address and discuss current concerns. We send out monthly newsletters and email notifications as needed to keep residents informed of important alerts, news, and community events. We maintain a website as well with lots of helpful information. www.uana-ws.org
Historic Oak Crest (HOC) - Oak Crest is the oldest and largest neighborhood in area. It was established in June 1923 and is currently in the process of obtaining historic designation on the National Register of Historic Places. Historic Oak Crest, Inc. was established in October 2012 as a non-profit 501(c)3 organization with the purpose of obtaining National Register status and maintaining preservation through education, historic significance, identification markers, and beautification of the neighborhood. HOC also maintains a website with lots of historical documentation and photos of the area and each home. www.historicoakcrest.org
Upcoming Bond Referendum - Last fall the city of Winston-Salem and WFU hired a consulting group to examine the traffic issues within a two mile radius of the Wake Forest campus and to make recommendations that would improve vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic and address safety concerns.
Then last winter the city hired another consulting group to examine the Polo Rd & Cherry St area and to make recommendations of how to redevelop what has been a blighted area for many years.
The recommendations of both consulting groups were presented to the community and the city and were well received by both. The recommendations include traffic calming along the Polo Rd corridor as well as University Pky, Reynolda Rd, and Cherry St. Redevelopment of the Polo Rd/Cherry St area include a proposed development to include small businesses, neighborhood restaurants, coffee shops, a farmer's market complex, and a park that would attract local residents and students to the area. These businesses could be on the ground level with the suggestion of condominiums or office space on several upper levels. This project would incorporate the traffic calming and safety issues as well as provide easy access whether by walking, biking, or driving.
The funding for these projects would come from an upcoming bond referendum to be voted on in the November election. Hopefully, in the coming weeks the city and/or our council members will be providing us with more specific information about the contents of the bond referendum.
In the meantime, we hope you will consider supporting the bond referendum so we can see these much needed improvements to our part of the community be implemented.

the Forsyth County Historic Resources Commission (HRC) voted unanimously to
approve an application request from Historic Oak Crest for a federal Certified
Local Government (CLG) grant that would match funds needed to hire under
contract an architectural historian to submit our nomination for historic
designation on the National Register of Historic Places. So far,HOC is the only
candidate in Forsyth County applying for the grant. A decision on the grant
will be made in Spring 2015. If selected, we will receive up to 50% of the
funds needed to complete the nomination. HOC will be responsible for the other
half of the funds. Our current bid is for $12,500.00. We are currently working
on another grant that would cover much of those funds. The remainder of funds
will hopefully be raised by OC resident contributions.
As soon as we have
the funds things will begin to move much more quickly and our dream will become

Once we obtain historic designation, we also hope to erect
signage along Polo Rd at each entrance into Oak Crest and also including
historic signage at each street intersection within OC.

sale. Currently, we have a nice variety of homes to choose from. Some

Polo Rd/Cherry St Redevelopment Project - Last week a series of workshops were held to obtain input from area residents and business owners for the redevelopment of the Polo Rd/Cherry St neighborhood, formerly known as "Daltonia" and named for the original owners of the land in that area, J McRae Dalton and R I Dalton. The first workshop gave us some background and statistical data of the area and then we brainstormed possible solutions to help revitalize the area and bring much needed new life to this neighborhood. In the second workshop we were able to see some examples of those proposed solutions that would blend in nicely within the existing residential and industrial areas. A third workshop will consist of a final presentation and recommendations based on information and input obtained from the first two workshops. That workshop was cancelled due to the inclement weather last week. So far the workshops have been well attended and participants have offered some great suggestions that would have a positive impact on this blighted area. We will send an announcement when the final workshop has been rescheduled.
Parking Congestion - Some of the side streets in the UANA area that surround the WFU campus have become much more congested due to students parking their cars along those streets during classes and at some of the rental properties and vacant properties permanently to avoid paying for a parking pass on campus. The students who live in the rental properties are allowing their friends, who either live on campus or commute to classes, to park at their houses. This results in overcrowded streets and houses with anywhere from 6 - 10 cars scattered over the driveways and lawns. This is making the neighborhood appearance look bad. WFU is aware of these issues as well as the WSPD, and the UACP (University Area Community Partnership) will be discussing it and possible solutions at our next meeting this week.

This was a great proposal and presentation and will bring a lot of much needed positive changes to our area if implemented.

- The City-County Planning Board is working to update the North Suburban Plan to reflect changes since 2005 and to guide development and public investment decisions for the next ten years. The purpose of the drop-in session is to meet with staff to review and comment on the draft plan prior to future public hearings before appointed and elected officials. A copy of the draft plan will be available on our Department’s Area Plan webpage: http://www.cityofws.org/departments/planning/area-plans/north-suburban . bring a lot of much needed positive changes to our area if
implemented.
No Parking On Front Lawn Ordinance -
There are still a few doors left to knock on for final signatures. We need 60%
to qualify for the ordinance. Once all of the signatures are collected and
added up and if we meet the 60%, we can then proceed with the application
process. We would like to have this completed and the ordinance in place by the
start of classes in the Fall 2014.

The status of our
501(c)3 application is not what we anticipated at this point. As of last week,
our application (submitted last June) has not been assigned yet for review.
The IRS is currently reviewing applications from May 2012. So, we have no
choice but to wait. Unfortunately, this means that we will have to delay
applying for grants until we obtain non-profit status approval.
We will
keep you posted of any updates or alternate resources to raise funds needed to
obtain historic designation.

A New Year - A New Look
Last September I did a special edition of our newsletter in honor of Paul & Ruby Hauser's home at 1141 Polo, which was demolished in August 2013 due to irreparable damage caused by storms last June. I thought the new look and format was a refreshing change, so I have decided to use this format for our 2014 newsletters. I also hope that along with this change, I can feature a residence each month (but not this month) in the header and link it to some of the history I have done previously on the Historic Oak Crest website. Hopefully, these changes will give residents some interesting reading to look forward to each month.

Christmas Break
Students will be returning from Christmas Break on Jan 11, however some students may return a few days prior. Please continue to keep a watchful eye on student rental properties. Although there have been break ins during this holiday season, they have been fewer than this time last year.
Remember, if you see any suspicious people or behavior in the area, call 911 immediately. It is better to call the police and find that it is nothing than to have them called after a break in has occurred. Your vigilance could prevent break ins from occurring!
Historic Oak Crest News
The Historic Oak Crest Executive Board held a brief meeting in December. At this meeting we discussed our plan of action regarding the historic designation process.
Currently, we are still waiting to hear the status of our 501(c)3 application. After we are approved as a non-profit organization we can then begin raising the funds needed to hire architectural historian, Laura Phillips, to begin writing our nomination for historic designation. We are already preparing for a couple of grants that, if obtained, will cover much of the expenses needed for this project. However, we will be expected to raise some of the funds from Oak Crest residents as well. We will be sure update residents of our progress.
We are also pleased to announce that the Historic Oak Crest website is available again and this time as a stand alone website. It can be accessed at www.historicoakcrest.com or www.historicoakcrest.org (this link not available yet). Be sure to check it out and especially pay attention to the Weekly Acorns and Photo Gallery sections. We will still be tweaking and modifying the site on an ongoing basis as well as adding more content as time permits. This website is a very nice compilation of the history of Oak Crest and surrounding areas as well as individual house histories.
Happy New Year
The UANA Executive Board would like to wish everyone a very Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year!
ALERT: Message Regarding Off-Campus Break-ins
Please see the message below from WFU regarding off-campus break-ins in the UANA area.
Also, a permanent resident's home was broken into this afternoon on Harmon Av. Many collectibles and Christmas presents were taken and the house was ransacked.
Please see the attached photos that were captured from video surveillance of a vehicle that was seen on Hobart St moments before the break in. This vehicle could be connected to the break-ins. The WS Police have been notified about this vehicle.
If you have seen this vehicle or should happen to see it in the area, please try to get the license number and call the police immediately.
Please be sure to keep watch on any student houses surrounding you. Thieves love to target houses when the students are away on breaks. Please report any suspicious behavior immediately to the police. Your call could prevent a burglary.

Subject: Message Regarding Off-Campus Break-ins
To: broadcast-all@lists.wfu.edu
Recent off-campus break-ins at students’ residences have prompted increased patrols by the Winston-Salem Police Department and extra attention by University Police to the area immediately adjacent to the University.
Electronic items—such as televisions, laptops and gaming systems—were stolen in the break-ins near the University. One break-in occurred on Polo Road, between campus and Reynolda Road, while another occurred on Palm Drive, off University Parkway. The incidents occurred Dec. 16 at privately owned houses rented to students off campus.
No one was home when the break-ins occurred.
Because the thefts occurred off campus, the Winston-Salem Police Department is investigating. The University Police Department is assisting.
Anyone with information that might assist in the investigations is encouraged to contact the Winton-Salem Police Department at 336-773-7700.
Before winter break began, the University Police Department distributed crime prevention tips to off-campus students. The department encourages students not to leave portable valuables—such as computers and other electronics—at off-campus houses during the winter break. Police also recommended that students record the model and serial number of valuables that would not be removed during break and record that information online at a website established by the department. Police offered to assist students with locating identifying numbers, if needed.

Update on Cell Phone Tower Ordinance
On November 14 the Planning Board approved the Cell Phone Tower Ordinance allowing cell phone towers to be erected in residential neighborhoods. It will now go before the City Council to be voted on in January 2014.
Several revisions were made to the ordinance for towers erected in residential neighborhoods, such as minimum lot size, distance from residential structures, and required informational community meetings and notification of all residents within 300 feet of tower locations. See the revised ordinance with the revisions highlighted in yellow here: Revised Cell Phone Tower Ordinance.
The Winston-Salem Neighborhood Alliance (WSNA) and the UANA still remain OPPOSED to this ordinance.

Christmas Break
Christmas Break for students will be from Dec 14 through Jan 10. However, some students may leave earlier depending on their exam schedule. Classes begin on Jan 14, 2014, therefore some students may not return until just prior to classes beginning.
Please be sure to keep watch on any student houses surrounding you. Thieves love to target houses when the students are away on breaks. Please report any suspicious behavior immediately to the police. Your call could prevent a burglary.

New Cell Phone Tower Ordinance Threatens Our Neighborhoods
Hello all!
As your UANA Community Liaison, I am forwarding an important statement from the Winston-Salem Neighborhood Alliance explaining why our neighborhood should speak out against a proposal by AT&T that would allow them to place cell towers in our neighborhoods.
Please read the statement by Melynda Dunigan -- and note that she provides four steps each of us can take to fight this proposed ordinance. I urge you to take action.
- Robert Vorsteg
The final approved version of the cell tower ordinance talking points is attached.
- Melynda Dunigan
The UANA will be hosting a special meeting to discuss this ordinance and answer any questions residents may have. The meeting will be Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 7 pm, in the Parlor at Forest Heights Senior Living, 2500 Polo Ridge Ct.
Last weekend there were several incidents of vandalism that occurred in Oak Crest. Saturday morning a Harmon Av resident discovered the rear bumper cover had been taken from their car. On Sunday morning that same resident found the bumper cover lying beside the car with a note saying "I'm very very sorry". However, upon further investigation there's some evidence that the cover may have been dislodged by collision.
Also, several incidents occurred on Crepe Myrtle Cr. One resident reported a window in their home was broken at about 11 pm Saturday night. Then at about 2 am Sunday several other incidents occurred. One resident didn't discover what had happened until the morning: Their front porch light was ripped off, Their car door was wide open and there was a semen-like substance smeared on the steering wheel. They also found a pair of extra-large men's jockey shorts on the rear seat. At another residence, cars parked in the driveway were broken into and the rear-view mirrors were pulled off, shattering the windshields. And at yet another residence, a van door was found wide open.
Please be alert and report any suspicious activity to the police immediately. You may also want to let the UANA know about any incidents so we can send email alerts to all area residents. You can email us at uana.ws@gmail.com .
Yard Waste Dumping
Several residents have reported seeing neighbors dump yard trash onto the property of others, including over backyard fences. This is activity inappropriate for community living and good will. If any resident needs a city yard waste cart he or she may call Sanitation at 727-8000.

The NPOFLO is going much

signatures to proceed with the application process.

will still have to wait until the Planning Dept. checks everything out and
approves it before going to City Council for final approval.

No Parking On Front Lawn Ordinance Update
This weekend we will wrap up our door to door circulation of petitions. At that point, we will work on completing our data collections, mapping boundaries for the areas the ordinance will cover, and filling out the application(s) to be submitted to the City.
Since there was not much interest in the NPOFLO for the neighborhoods east of University Pky, those areas where the petition was circulated may have to be submitted as separate applications. The smallest area must be a minimum of 100,000 square feet (approximately a dozen or so homes). Once the petitions are gathered and mapped out, we will have a better idea of the areas that will be included and how the boundaries will be mapped out.
Many thanks to our volunteers who took the time to circulate the petitions. The volunteers are:
Polo Rd - Kent Strupe & Marcus Smith
Friendship Cr & Freds Rd - Doug Cunningham
Idlewild Dr - Priscilla Quinn
Rosedale Cr - Tom Phillips
Harmon Av - Wilson Somerville
Crepe Myrtle Cr - Martha Kennedy
Palm Dr / Ewing St - Robert Wooten
Brookwood Dr (south) & Lakewood Dr - Steve Whittington

Crime Alert
The student was not harmed. He called police from his locked bedroom when he heard the house's doorbell ring and, soon afterward, the voices of two men who had entered the house. The intruders never entered the locked room.
When police arrived, the student heard the men flee the house. Police took one suspect into custody near the house, while another suspect ran across University Parkway. Winston-Salem and Wake Forest police searched for the suspect, but did not find him.
The University is assisting the student today.
Anyone with information that may assist in the investigation may call the Winston-Salem Police Department at 336-733-7716 or Winston-Salem Crime Stoppers at 336-727-2800. Information may also be reported to University Police at 336-758-5591 or through the University's Silent Witness website.

Planned Rezoning For Palm Dr & Ewing St
We will be having a UANA meeting this evening, Tuesday, September 4, at 7 pm, at Forest Heights Senior Living in the Parlor.
This meeting will focus on the proposed development in the Brookwood neighborhood of Palm Dr and Ewing St, which involves rezoning a tract of land along Ewing St from RS 9 (single family dwelling) to RM 5 (multi family dwelling); constructing 10 houses (duplexes) along Ewing St that will house 8 WFU students in each structure; and change Ewing St from two way to one way traffic. We will discuss the impact this project will have on the neighborhood and decide what position the UANA will take in this project. Petitions will also be available for residents who oppose to sign.
The city planning department will have a hearing on the zoning change and Ewing St modification on Thursday, Sept 13; at 4 pm, at City Hall South: fifth floor.
WFU Is Back In Session
Well, it's that time of year again when the students return and another school year begins. Please be aware of the increased traffic (both pedestrian and vehicle) in the area and adjust our speed accordingly to keep our neighborhoods safe.
Also, be sure to keep your homes and vehicles secure and to keep all valuables and electrical devises out of sight.
Please take time to check out the WFU Acedemic Calendar so you are aware of the student's schedule. This is good to know so you can keep an extra eye on their houses while they are away.

Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothes as we will be doing a lot of walking.
We will meet in the large field behind 1165 Polo Rd (corner of Friendship Cr) at 10 am. The tour will take about two hours and the picnic will follow. Be sure to bring a blanket/tablecloth or small table and/or chairs.
New Recycling Schedule
Beginning in April, we started a new recycling schedule and started using the new blue rollout recycle bins. This has been confusing to some folks because we only have recycling pick-up every other Friday instead of every Friday.
Your new recycle bin should have included a pamphlet with instructions and the pick-up schedule. If you did not receive a new (blue rollout) recycle bin, please call City Link at 727.8000 or 311. Our pick-up schedule is on the "Blue" weeks.
Also, If you have physical or other limitations that prevent you from being able to roll your cart out to the street for curb service, you can request backyard pick up service.
For more information on instructions, schedules, and forms for backyard pick-up, click here.
Correction...Changes to North & Northwest Wards
A couple of months ago, some of us got a postcard stating that the North and Northwest wards were modified. At our last UANA meeting Kent Strupe told members that ALL residents West of University Pky were now part of the North Ward and is represented by D D Adams. That was incorrect.
Only the residents that are West of University Pky and on the North side of Polo Rd (including Friendship Cr, Idlewild Dr, and Freds Rd) have been changed and are now part of the North Ward.
Residents that are West of University Pky and on the South side of Polo Rd (including Rosedale Cr, Harmon Av, and Crepe Myrtle Cr) are still in the Northwest Ward and is represented by Wanda Merschel.
Residents that are East of University Pky (North or South of Polo Rd) are still in the North Ward. We apologize for any confusion.

Mail Theft Alert!
Message from Adrienne Pilon...
On Friendship Circle, mail was stolen from numerous people sometime the night of May 7 or early morning May 8.
The mail was delivered very late on May 7; a number have evidence that we had mail stolen or damaged. We do not know if this was confined to Friendship Circle, or if other areas were affected.
A report has been filed with the Winston-Salem Police, with officer A.R. Cruise in charge of the investigation. Please call the non-emergency number if you have information or suspect your mail has been stolen or compromised.
You also need to file a report with the US Postal Service Inspector General. Each person must file if they suspect mail loss/vandalism, etc. The phone number is 1.888.877.7644; you can also go online at hotline@usps.org.gov (I think I have that right.)
If you want to speak with me, do email me or call!
Adrienne Pilon; 218 Friendship; 631.1519; pilona@uncsa.edu
And from Nancy Chinlund...
Please let everybody know that sometime during the night on May 7, someone emptied mailboxes on Friendship Circle, kept what they wanted, and threw what they didn't want along the side of the road. The mail was delivered very late that day (7:20 at 327 Friendship), so people checking their mailboxes earlier may have assumed they didn't get any mail.
Brad collected all the mail he could find along the road. We called the police and reported the incident, and the police who took the report took two bags of loose mail.
It is most disturbing that we found an empty box for checks.
Home Break Ins Updates & Tips
As you probably already know, our neighborhoods suffered a large rash of home break-ins over the Christmas holidays. The good news is that most of the persons involved with the break-ins have been caught. The main guy is in jail under $150k bond and will get an active sentence.
This does not mean to let your guard down. Please continue to be aware of your surroundings and to keep your homes and cars secure. Report any suspicous persons or behavior to the police immediately.
At our next UANA General Meeting we will have special guests from the WSPD and from their Crime Prevention Unit to provide crime stats in our area, provide various ways to prevent and deter criminal behavior and to answer questions from residents. .So, please plan to attend our next meeting.

He will discuss the different types of historic designation and how historic designation would benefit Oak Crest.
This will also be a very important UANA meeting because it will be the final meeting under the current Executive Board. It is imperative that we receive nominations for a new slate of officers. The current board has been operating as a skeleton crew for quite some time and we are burned out. We are giving notice now that we are resigning -- effective date is at this May 10 meeting. It is now time for some "new blood" to fill these soon to be vacant seats.
The UANA along with our affiliation with the UACP has made great progress in the quality and standard of living in our neighborhoods over the past few years. It is vitally important that we keep the momentum going and continue to strengthen our ties with WFU, WS Police, and the City of WS. We still, and will continually have a purpose to improve the quality of life in our rapidly changing "transitional" community.
This is a critical time for all of us, especially with the economic downturn, that we pay close attention to the changes taking place surrounding where we live. We live in nice neighborhoods that are, for the most part, attractive and safe. It is probably agreed that we all have a vested interest in our homes and neighborhoods, that they continue to be well maintained and a safe place to live, as well as to increase our property values.
Without an Executive Board, UANA will cease to function as an active association and we could quite possibly see a lot of our progress be undermined. Please do not allow this to happen. We have a lot of wonderful people in our area with great talents and leadership skills that can be well utilized in serving the UANA as well as our community. It takes some committment on your part, but we can all reap the the rewards.
Do not wait for or expect someone else to step up to the plate, but consider what you can contribute to the continued success of UANA. Please plan to attend this important meeting and bring with you at least one nomination for our Executive Board.
Office seats to be filled are President, First Vice President, Second Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Community Liaison, and Communications Specialist (or whatever you want to call it). We will also need about 5 or 7 people to serve as general board members.
We look forward to seeing you on May 10.

Announcements
student-occupied, university-owned house at 109 Rosedale Cir that was
reported to have occurred at approximately 11 p.m. March 15.
A female student told police that she awoke to find a man in her bedroom who
was going through her belongings. The student reported that she grabbed the
man and shouted for help from others in the house, but the man immediately
fled her room and ran out of the house before anyone else in the house
responded. The student, who was not injured, called University Police.
Police suspect the man may have entered the student's room through an open
window.
University and Winston-Salem Police Department officers responded to the
report, but they did not locate the man. An investigation is continuing.

Most of you probably received a post card several weeks ago announcing that the bulky item pick up would be for the week of MARCH 15, 2010. That date was in error. The correct date is for the week of JUNE 7, 2010. The city decided to make it a later date in order to allow WFU students living in the neighborhood to put out their bulky items when they move out at the end of the school year.
You can also go to the following city website http://www.cwsonline.org/curbservice/ and type in any address to see when the bulky item pick up will be for that address.
